Project Summary

As part of WONDERboom’s visual body of work for Rising Sun, their 9th Studio Album, we needed to create a classic style CD cover for their limited amount of printed copies that were released with the digital version of the album. We decided to combine vector illustrations of the band members in an abstract, yet intricate sun shape. The colour palette was created from the main colours featured in their ‘Southern Light’ music video, which have a subtle vapor-wave feel to them. Included as well were certain lyrical parts from each of the songs. A big thank-you goes out to Rob Scholtz for his photography which was used as the base images for the illustrations.
